The Story Behind the Coffee

This vibrant coffee comes from the Burbujas initiative, a community-driven wet mill project centred around the Aguablanca mill in the heart of the Colombian Andes. Located in the Valle de Laboyos, the epicentre of Colombian coffee production, this mill offers local growers an efficient, perfectly placed hub for processing.

By delivering freshly picked cherries directly to the mill, producers gain access to reliable, high-quality processing without the need for their own infrastructure. This improved supply-chain connection provides fairer access to international markets and supports higher household incomes, helping secure a brighter future for farming communities in Huila.

The project brings together 30–50 small-scale producers, most farming between 1–5 hectares at altitudes ranging from 1,300–1,800 masl. Many are raising young families and cultivating the next generation of coffee producers, contributing to both economic resilience and regional heritage.

Crafted from a blend of Castillo, Caturra, and Colombia varietals and processed fully washed to showcase clarity, this coffee offers a clean, fruit-forward cup. Expect flavours of forest fruits, crisp red apple, and a delicate wine-like acidity, balanced by refined sweetness and excellent drinkability.
